Hand-held electronic indicator that reads water velocity from a rotating current meter and stores readings for up to five meters.
Overview
The water velocity indicator is a small hand-held electronic instrument that measures flow velocity from a mechanically rotating current meter. Connected to the meter cable, it counts the revolutions and gives the velocity on site, so readings no longer need to be timed and worked out by hand.
It stores the data of up to five current meters at a time and connects directly to a laptop or other computer, giving the readings in MS Excel format for the discharge calculation. A modern microprocessor keeps the readings accurate and the operation simple.
It works with our cup type and propeller current meters, on a wading rod, a bridge outfit or a cableway.
Key features
How it works
Plug the current meter cable into the indicator and choose the meter in use.
The indicator counts the meter revolutions over the measuring time.
The velocity is shown at once and saved, ready to transfer to a computer.
