Propeller current meter for water velocities from 0.04 to 6 m/s in canals, rivers and the sea, on a wading rod or cable.
Overview
The M1 propeller water current meter measures the velocity of water in water courses, canals, rivers and the sea. A propeller on a horizontal axis faces into the flow and turns at a speed that follows the velocity, measuring from 0.04 up to 6 metres per second with the propellers supplied.
The meter is held on a wading rod in shallow water or suspended on a cable with a sinker weight from a bridge, boat or cableway. A proximity switch signals each revolution to a water velocity indicator, and the calibration chart supplied with the meter gives the velocity.
The meter body is high quality non-corrosive brass, and the set comes in a robust aluminium instrument case with a lock.
Key features
How it works
Set the meter in the flow on a wading rod or a suspended cable, facing upstream.
The propeller turns with the water, and the proximity switch signals each revolution.
The water velocity indicator counts the signals, and the calibration chart gives the velocity.
