Solar-powered digital rainfall recorder: tipping bucket sensor, data logger with display and keypad, sealed enclosure, GSM option.
Overview
The automatic rain gauge is a complete, unattended rainfall station. A tipping bucket sensor with 0.2 mm resolution feeds a data logger that records every tip with its date and time, powered by a 12 V maintenance-free battery charged by a solar panel, all in a sealed waterproof enclosure.
A 16 × 2 LCD and membrane keypad on the logger let you program it and read rainfall on site without a computer. The logging interval is set from 1 minute to 24 hours, the memory holds more than 8,192 readings, and the battery lasts more than 1.5 years with solar charging. Data downloads with LEW software and opens in MS Excel.
Data can be collected on site or sent by a GSM/GPRS telemetry modem, which makes the gauge suitable for flood warning networks and remote catchments.
Key features
How it works
Each 0.2 mm of rain tips the bucket and sends a pulse to the logger.
Rainfall is stored with date and time at the interval you set, with the battery voltage.
Read it on the display, download it to a computer, or receive it by GSM/GPRS.
