Louvred wooden instrument shelter to IS 5948:1970 for thermometers and recorders, in small and large sizes.
Overview
The Stevenson screen protects meteorological instruments from direct sun, rain and heat radiated from the ground, while letting air circulate freely around them, so they measure the true air temperature and humidity.
Our screens are made to IS 5948:1970 from best quality Indian wood, accurately assembled with louvred sides and a double roof that cuts the heat of the sun. They are painted white to reflect heat and stand on legs, which keep the instruments above the ground. They house the thermograph, hygrograph, dry and wet bulb thermometers and the maximum and minimum thermometers.
Two sizes are available, small and large, to suit the instruments at your station.
Key features
How it works
The double roof and white paint keep sunlight and heat off the instruments.
Louvred sides let outside air pass freely through the screen.
Instruments inside read the true air temperature and humidity.
