Photo 1 of 1
Van Dorn sampler for taking water samples at a chosen depth in lakes, rivers and reservoirs for water quality testing.
Overview
A Van Dorn water sampler takes a water sample at a known depth. It is lowered with its end seals held open, then the seals close at the chosen depth so the sample stays separate from the water above.
It suits depth-wise water quality sampling in lakes, rivers and reservoirs.
How it works
The end seals are held open and the sampler is lowered on its line.
At the chosen depth the mechanism is tripped and the end seals close.
The sampler is raised and the sample drawn off for testing.
